Dr. Jennifer Zaffino
Chiropractor/Active Release Provider/Clinic Director
Dr. Zaffino knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue a career in the health care field. Growing up in Jasper, Alberta allowed her to participate in many outdoor sports including skiing, ringette, hockey, baseball, biking and simply enjoying the rocky mountain surroundings. While playing hockey at 16 years of age, she got checked into the boards and injured her tailbone. Her medical doctor took x-rays and determined that she had dislocated her tailbone and would need surgery. Her dad wanted a second opinion, and suggested seeing a chiropractor. After one adjustment her problem was resolved and surgery was not necessary.
Dr. Jennifer Zaffino completed her Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Psychology at the University of Alberta and obtained her degree in Chiropractic at the Palmer College of Chiropractic West. During her studies in California, she had the privilege of treating patients of all ages and backgrounds in various multidisciplinary settings. She strives for excellence by helping her patients recover from pain and dysfunction and helps to prevent them from future injury. Additionally, Dr. Zaffino obtained her certification in Active Release Techniques (ART) and is full body certified.
After graduating in 2003 Dr. Zaffino joined a clinic in downtown Calgary where she learned a lot and enjoyed the downtown atmosphere, but knew that the commute from Okotoks could only be done for so long. In 2006 Dr. Zaffino decided to move her practice to Okotoks and established Backbones Chiropractic & Sports Therapy. We are thrilled to be one of the largest multidisciplinary clinics in Okotoks and will continue to serve the foothills community to the best of our ability.
When not in the office Dr. Zaffino loves spending time with her two boys; traveling up and down the Alberta highways for hockey, and is always looking for the next adventure.
